Lynn Gorman DeVelder holds a Bachelor of Music degree in harp
performance from the State University of New York College at
Fredonia, as well as a Master of Music degree in performance and a
Performer’s Certificate from the Indiana University at Bloomington
School of Music where she studied with Susann McDonald.
She has
performed in many orchestras including the Phoenix Symphony
Orchestra, the New Mexico Symphony Orchestra, the El Paso Symphony
Orchestra, the El Paso Opera, the Maryland Symphony Orchestra, the
National Chamber Orchestra, the Civic Orchestra of Chicago, and the
New World Symphony. In their 1997-1998 season, Lynn held a one-year
position as substitute principal harpist with the Louisiana
Philharmonic in New Orleans. She then held a position with “The
President’s Own” U.S. Marine Band in Washington, D.C., where from
1998 to 2003 she performed as an ensemble musician, chamber
musician, and soloist.
She currently teaches at
the Masterworks Performing Arts Festival and performs and teaches in
the Albuquerque, New Mexico area. Lynn enjoys teaching students of
various ages and levels.
