I have been
teaching guitar since 1988 with students from beginner to advanced
from young to the not-so-young. Beginners will work from a book
called "How to Play Guitar Phase 1 and Phase 2" by Ernie Ball with
supplemental material, as needed and classical students from "Solo
Guitar Playing" by Frederick Noad and other materials, as well.
Depending on your ability we will work on Music Theory (Diatonic
Harmony, Scales, Arpeggios, etc.), Note reading, Tablature, Single
String Technique, Chord Melody, Finger Pick Style from Classical to
Contemporary, Jazz to Jazz Fusion and of course ROCK or simply the
songs you love.
You will
receive 1 free lesson with a 2 month commitment. Your lessons with
run $18.75 per each 1/2 hour lesson or $75.00 every 4 lessons. I
will expect you to practice at least a 1/2 hour per day in the hope
of fast tracking you to a point of musical freedom in a short period
of time.

(1986) and Guitar Institute of Technology(GIT) Graduate (1987).
Performances included the Tennessee Inaugural Ball in 1998 for Bill
Clinton's second inauguration plus TV, radio,studio, night clubs,
hotels, private parties, weddings & receptions, arts & crafts fairs,
art gallery openings, business functions, fund raisers, etc, etc.
Having performed in numerous ensembles since 1970 I have been a solo
guitarist and vocalist since 1988.
Most
performances include a mixture of Contemporary Acoustic Guitar,
Traditional Classical Guitar from Renaissance & Baroque to Spanish
Romantic, to Jazz & Jazz Fusion, Rock and Blues plus excellent vocal
music including Beatles, Crosby,Stills & Nash, James Taylor, Garth
Brookes, Keith Urban to George Benson or Billy Joel plus numerous
light romantic tunes, some Spanish ballads and some original music.
Music for me
is simply a life-long love and I try very hard to provide a
versatile music performance that can be appreciated by most age
ranges and musical tastes. From "Bach to Rock" John P Martinez will
