Lynne Nicholson was classically trained on violin and
piano. She started playing Native American flutes about 8 years ago
originally for her parents (and then for others) in care
facilities: to make a difference, to create a sense of ease &
comfort and see if music could aid in slow debilitating health
conditions and/or possibly aid in improving them. Lynne has played
in Alzheimer & Dementia senior care facilities for several years as
well as playing for those who were in hospice and in transition.
Stepping outside of the classical “box”, she
wondered why certain pitches seem to create ease without over
stimulation to those with varying health challenges. And that
started Lynne in experimenting in playing and doing research to
better understand and be able to create the positive effects music
can have to be more effective supplements in treatment protocols.
From her own personal experience, Lynne has in the past year worked
to understand what music can be effective in cancer relief and
recovery and will share what she has learned from the inside out.
Lynne has given talks on healing sounds and Native
American flutes both on a national and regional level plus taught
both private and in group classes on playing Native American
flutes. Lynne has studied with Native American flute masters in
workshops with such notables as R. C. Nakai, Gary Stroutsos, Mary
Youngblood, Robert Bellus, Peter Phippen, Scott August, and Dr.
Richard Payne, to name a few.
Lynne is a Reiki Practitioner Level II. In the
alternative medicine fields, Lynne has participated in training in
Reiki, Chinese Medicine, acupressure, energy health and well being,
Tai Chi Chih and Tai Chi Chuan, meditation, and autogenics. Lynne
has been an Executive Consultant in Business, Technology, &
Marketing in the Public Sector; Education, Government and Healthcare

Her bachelor’s degree is in mathematics with physics minor and her
