traditional music is that it truly is accessible to anyone with one of
the simplest of instruments, the whistle. Typically the first instrument
for youngsters in Ireland - even for those who go on to learn fiddle,
pipes, concertina and other instruments - with merely six holes, the
whistle lends itself to hundreds of different dance tunes, slow airs,
marches, waltzes and more. As a beginner, one can find themselves

As one of Albuquerque's finest Irish Traditional Musicians, Dain
Forsythe is primarily known for his expertise as a Bodhrán player and
teacher but he also performs on Irish flute and whistle. Dain has
recently begun offering his teaching skills as an Irish whistle and
flute instructor for beginners. He is known for his patience, his sense
of humor, and his comprehensive approach. Dain performs regularly at Two
Fools Tavern every 1st and 3rd Sundays from 11 - 2 p.m. with Finn's
Thumb, an Irish traditional music ensemble, and has taught bodhrán and performed at Zoukfest 2009
and 2010, New Mexico's week-long bouzouki and world music camp.
