Albuquerque, NM Harmonica Instructor: Alex Hastings

My name is Alex Hastings and I was born and raised in Albuquerque NM. I play blues and folk harmonica, and play for the ENMU jazz combo on occasion. Music comes from your heart, therefore, inspiration and soulful expression is something that cannot be taught by me or anyone; that is for you to find in yourself. I can, however, teach you how to use the harmonica to express the inspiration that you discover within yourself. With practice and some help, I promise you can learn this instrument backwards and forwards. I can teach players from square one and I can help more advanced players with the fine details and professional technique of the harmonica. In my lessons we will work on a very individual level based on your personal goals, whether you want to back up your buddy the guitarist, or soulfully bust out in a solo. In the end it is about the music. I want to teach you to play what you want to play. I say again, I can't teach inspiration, but I can teach you how to use the harmonica to its fullest extent.

I charge $30 for a one hour lesson (if we get in a good groove I may be willing to take it a hair longer) or you can take a 4 lesson series for $100.

I am available all summer and during the second half of December/first half of January.
